CMDB: Design for Success

In this webinar you will learn IT best practices for implementing a CMDB (Configuration Management Database) to support the ITIL processes and functions. These lessons are taken from real life successes where IT organizations are achieving significant ROI from their configuration management initiatives.

Topic Overview:

At its base, the CMDB provides a clear picture of the state of your IT infrastructure components and the physical and logical relationships between them.

Companies that excel at configuration management are able to do much more with the CMDB elevating the value that is achieved from other processes.

Problem management, change management, availability management and service level management all achieve direct and tangible benefits by leveraging data found in a well architected CMDB.

Benefits of CMDB

  • IT Executive Management
    - Improves availability and resilience of business enabled IT services.
  • Finance
    - Increases accuracy in accounting for real cost of IT.
    - Provides tools to calculate TCO, ROI, and Service Chargebacks.
  • Service Desk Manager
    - Incidents/problems prioritized according to true business impact.
    - Lowers resolution times.
    - Reduces unplanned outages.
