Kelly Services - Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise applications
The Client: Kelly Services is a global workforce solutions company which employs 550,000 individuals and offers a comprehensive array of outsourcing and consulting services.
Business Problem : Kelly was on v8.9 for both PeopleSoft HCM and Financials. With the release of v9.1, both applications were nearing the end of product support. They needed to upgrade, however their highly customized implementation made performing the upgrades to version 9.1 for both applications more complex.
Solution : Emtec, in partnership with the internal Kelly team, performed a “fit-gap” analysis to examine all custom code, line by line, to determine if it had already been incorporated into the latest PeopleSoft version or if modifications were required. The team then successfully performed the required upgrades.
Results : The HCM and Financials upgrade project was successful, ensuring that Kelly Services wouldn’t encounter end-of-life Oracle support issues. It also has laid the ground work for their next mission critical project - a complete overhaul of the company’s legacy VAX payroll system written in COBOL.
