The Client: Liqui-Box is a leading supplier of bag-in-box flexible packaging to the global dairy, beverage and bulk food markets.
Business Problem : Liqui-Box needed complete visibility of their supply/demand picture across their global locations. The firm supports numerous manufacturing plants across the globe each requiring a different approach to product costing. Liqui-Box manufacturing plants are designed to quickly move product in and out. They needed a supply chain solution where demand signals flowed seamlessly through order management, manufacturing and purchasing.
Solution : Initial changes included replacement of their workstations, migrating Lotus Notes to Microsoft Outlook, and switching from their home-grown ERP system to Oracle EBS. A robust supply chain network was created to request and supply material to and from any location across the globe with total visibility to inbound and outbound material. Deploying Oracle Process Manufacturing, which supports multiple costing methods, allowed the flexibility for each Liqui-Box site to implement the right costing method that would fit exact business needs.
