The Client: Middlesex Water Company (MWC) provides a full range of regulated and non-regulated water, wastewater utility and related services in parts of New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
Business Problem : MWC was growing through multiple acquisitions and their outsourced system was not able to support the growth, including: intercompany transactions very tedious intercompany transactions. Their month end close needed to be streamlined, and management reporting was very tedious and needed improvement.
Solution : Emtec implemented Oracle’s E-Business Suite application (EBS), followed by Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B). The integration of these two applications was critical to the success of each project.
Results : Day-to-day operations have improved with the streamlining of business systems and the associated integrations; fieldwork automation; improved asset management; simplified back office procedures; acquisition on boarding is now accomplished in a seamless fashion; executives have more visibility into systems across the enterprise; and key metrics are now available via dashboards and reports.
