Emtec, Inc. helps mold the minds of Jacksonville Students

Jacksonville, FL. – With technology needs rapidly changing, Emtec, Inc. (OTCQB: ETEC), a leading provider of technology-empowered business solutions for world-class organizations, is finding that more and more school systems are turning to consulting firms to help schools better align their technology with the needs of the students, and to help position the students for success as they prepare for higher education and real-world jobs.

Emtec’s Jacksonville office has provided IT consulting needs in the education space for more than 30 years in the southern region, which includes school systems in Florida and Georgia. This includes installing more than 265,000 desktops and laptops, 6,500 servers, and more than 544,450,000 gigabytes of storage. In 2012, Emtec supported 325,000 students and 50,000 teachers and staff in the Duval county school system.

“Our education practice has been seeing success in recent years due to the fast paced change of technology needs,” said Ronald Seitz, Executive Vice President, Education Division, Emtec. “Technology is not necessarily changing what will be done, but it is certainly changing how things will be done. As a result, we’re finding a shift in the mindset of school systems -- computers are no longer seen as a toy, but as a necessary tool to help prepare our children to be successful now and in the future.”

Emtec has found that most school systems are looking for technology solutions such as top-quality curriculum software, computer products for the classroom, local area networks (LANs) that share information with a school, as well as wide area networks (WANs) that link many campuses together.

In support of local academic and education services for residential kids in the Jacksonville area, Emtec is a platinum supporting sponsor of the 8th Annual Hope by Design Fashion Show, which benefits the Children’s Home Society of Florida, Buckner Division. The event will be held on February 16th with a significant portion of the fashion show proceeds used to fund the education liaison position that coordinates academic, educational and vocational services for residential children and teens with the local schools.

“We’re truly committed to the children of Jacksonville, and we’re extremely proud of the opportunities we’ve had to support the community and the school systems,” added Seitz.
